Wonderful Hotel! My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Cavour just at the end of the summer season and I have to say that the treatment we received was second to none. The staff were always pleasant and courteous, even when we bothered them for stupid little things like how to operate the shower (!) The room was surprisingly big and perfectly clean every day and the rest of the hotel is beautiful too. The view isn't exactly what we imagined from the bedroom but from the rooftop garden it's better. As for the location, well, Florence is relatively small so it would be difficult not to be close to everything, but in any case it was nice to have everything so close at hand. We'd definitely come here again.

Grand Hotel Cavour was the best hotel we stayed in in Italy for value for money and convenience. Right in the city centre, you could want for nothing and the hotel itself was of a very high standard. We had visited Rome before coming up to Florence and to be honest, had had quite horrifying experiences, but the Hotel Cavour thankfully dispelled our bad first impressions of this beautiful country. Everything was clean, the staff was very professional and there was nothing that made us think that the luxurious atmosphere was just an easily breakable façade. I would recommend this place.

Beautiful hotel, right in the town center and reasonably priced too. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to have a great vacation in Florence because it actually is what it seems to be -real quality service, 4 star, and just a relaxing atmosphere. The only think I didn't like was the breakfast -it was um, Italian!! The best part was, we were actually booked into another hotel who messed up our reservation and so moved us here -and from what I gather, this place is much better, so if I ever come here again this is where I'll stay!
